The client's goals
The client was looking for a polished concrete effect microcement floor for their newly renovated kitchen inside a stunning barn conversion. They were interested in a ‘light grey’ finish and opted for a ‘silver-grey’ finish, with a cloudy aesthetic after we took them through our wide selection of colour samples.
The solution
The client also chose a matt sealer, which gives the floor an authentic polished concrete look while tastefully catching the natural light’s reflection. Preparation involved stripping back the existing substrate and applying a damp proof membrane (DPM). This was followed by a level build-up using a fibre reinforced levelling compound to get the floor perfectly level and smooth, ready to receive the microcement system.
The result
The final result was exquisite. The microcement flooring lends itself perfectly to the tasteful interior décor in the kitchen area, and its light grey colour and sunlight reflectivity brighten up the previously dark space.
