Local craft beer pioneers Beer Gonzo had brave plans to convert the storage space at the back of their popular Earlsdon store into a Taproom and Lambic bar. Their taproom features 18 keg lines and a rare bottle list. The clients wanted to create an industrial look with rugged or polished concrete walls and polished concrete flooring, turning the small space into an inviting space for beer enthusiasts to enjoy themselves in.
After some careful planning to get the most out of this humble speakeasy to be, a smoke coloured industrial polished concrete microcement was chosen to be the finish throughout the walls and bar front, with a charcoal microcement contrast chosen for the floor. The beer menu is projected on the microcement concrete wall above the bar, which is a testament to the possibilities achieved with this diverse product and the superb neutral backdrop that it creates.
